Some new kid photos

Recently I’ve been playing around with the flash on my camera, and I snapped these photos. Most are pretty straight forward, but on a few, I tried for either a more moody type of short, or more of a dreamy sort of image. Anyway, let me know what you think!

I had a few minutes of free time this weekend, and I’ve been wanting to experiment with some lighting techniques, so I pulled out my camera and forced my kids to sit down for some photos. Some of these were lit with natural light, while the others were lit by a pin spot, bounced off a white photo reflector. I like the way these all turned out, and I think it will get me more into using different lighting styles to take some photos. Anyway, have a look, and let me know what you think.

Disney World Pictures – Round 1

Well, we just got back from our first ever trip to Disney World. It was pretty freaking awesome! The kids had a great time and so did my wife and I. I took about 1400 photos during our 6 days there, so, I’ve begun sorting through them and editing/cleaning them up. Here is a quick random sampling from our first 2-3 days there, just some that I thought turned out really well. These were taken with either my 50mm, 18-105mm, or 11-16mm lens. The 11-16 I rented from LensRental.com. Pretty affordable, and the lens was really nice. Anyway, expect a couple more follow on posts with more disney photos, but for now, enjoy these!

Lake 2011

My wife’s aunt and uncle were nice enough to invite us up to a house they rent on the lake during the summer, and while there, I snapped these photos. I like these, especially the ones of the black lab and the banner photo. I think the lab photo could be in a dog calendar, and the banner photo is just cool because of the high contrast and the way the pier seems to stretch forever into the photo. Picking Blueberries

We had a beautiful day, today, so we headed out in the morning to pick blueberries. I took my camera along and snapped the photos you see here. Well, except the two of me, which were taken by my wife. I think this is the first (and probably will be the last) pictures of myself that I’ve ever placed on the website, so enjoy! I took these photos of the kids over the last couple of days. I liked them, so I thought I would share them. All taken with my D7000, combo of my 50mm prime, and my 18-105mm lenses. The 50mm is just an awesome lens coupled with the D7000, takes great photos. Anyway, have a look!

A little bit o’everything

This post is really just a hodgepodge of different photos I’ve taken over the last 3 days or so. I didn’t put up any individual posts, so I decided to lump them all together. One note though, there is a photo of one of my twins in here that I do not care for at all (because she has a strange, goofy look on her face), but I included it because her eyes just really stand out. So anyway, take a look and let me know what you think. These were all taken with my D7000, aperture priority mode, different lenses. 50mm, 70-300mm, and 18-105mm. Hodge Podge

Nice Sunday Day

Had a really good Sunday today. Went swimming at my Mother-In-Laws pool with the family, played baseball with my son in the backyard, and hung out while my kids rode bikes out front. Couldn’t ask for a better day. These are some shots I captured today. My 2 favorites are my twins “playing baseball” (my son and I had ditched our gear outside, when we ran in for some drinks. We returned to see this, so I had to take a photo), and the sunset shining through one of the birthday balloons from the party yesterday. For some reason, I just think there is something about this photo. I really dig the colors and the way the sun lights up the bottom of the balloon. Anyway, on with the photos!

Twins 4th Birthday Bash
